| Descrizione di dettaglio | A specialized collection of 800 specimens (150 Amphibia and 650 Reptiles) with specimens of three orders of Amphibia [(Anura, Fam.: Bufonidae, Dendrobatidae, Hylidae, Hyperoliidae, Leptodactylidae, Microhylidae, Pelodytidae, Pipidae, Ranidae, Rhacophoridae; Caudata, Fam.: Ambystomatinadae, Cryptobranchidae, Salamandridae; Gymnophiona, Fam: Coecillidae)] and three orders of Reptiles [(Chrocodylia, Fam.: Alligatoridae, Crocodylidae; Squamata, Fam.: Acrochoridae, Agamidae, Amphisbaenidae, Anguidae, Boidae, Chamaeleonidae, Colubridae, Cordylidae, Elapidae, Gekkonidae, Gerrhosauridae, Helodermatidae, Hydrophidae, Iguanidae, Lacertidae, Leptotyphlopidae, Phrynosomatidae, Scincidae, Teiidae, Typhlopidae, Uropeltidae, Varanidae, Viperidae; Testudines, Fam.: Chelidae, Cheloniidae, Emydidae, Testudinidae)].
The material was collected in Europe (essentially in Italy), Africa, South-East Asia, North America from late 1800 to the first years of 1900, and during the 50s, 60s and 70s of the twentieth century. The physical curation is complete as well as the species level inventory |

| Provenienza | The collection, found in 1883 at the "Institute of Zoology" by Antonio Carruccio, was extended by himself with the help of private collectors and purchased of private collections. From 1914 to 1932 the collection remained in a semi-abandoned state. In the 1932 it was transferred to the current "Museo Civico di Zoologia di Roma", where it is today |
