Description for specialistsCollection of 18000 Macrolepidoptera Heterocera originated mainly from the collection of Pietro Butti (60%) and partly from minor collections, such as the one of L. Racheli in the Southern Hemisphere, supplemented by some specimens from the Nearctic Region and other miscellaneous material.
They were collected during 1980-1990 (most of the collection, about 90%), 1930-1940 (5%) and after 1990 (5%). There are represented: Noctuoidea, Geometroidea, Bombycoidea, Lasiocampoidea, Cossoidea, Zygenoidea, Sesioidea, Hepialoidea.
The material is identified and adequately curated
