Description for specialists | Collection of c. 10000 Diptera in 144 boxes originated mainly from the collections of Luigioni, Bezzi, Tuccimei and Castellani, including the "general collection of the museum", all collected in Italy from the first half of the twentieth century with some specimens from the 90s.
The families represented are the follows: Stratiomidae, BBombyliidae, Asilidae, Dolichopodidae, Tachinidae, Syrphidae, Tephritidae, Conopidae, Culicidae, Sciomyzidae, Empididae, Anthomyiidae, Tipulidae, Muscidae, Fungivoridae, Sarcophagidae, Scioridae, Tabanidae, Hippoboscidae, Oestridae, Nycteribidae, Platystomadidae, Acroceridae, Bombylidae, Calliphoridae. The material is identified and adequately curated |
