| Description for specialists | A specialized private historical collection of 11000 specimens of birds (9000 skins and 2000 mounted), made up with specimens collected by Ettore Arrigoni degli Oddi during the course of his life, from 1821 to 1931, with a major contribution during the years 1896-1903. The collection consists of specimens of the italian ornithological fauna (82%) and of the Palaearctic Region (15%), just a 3% is from unknown places. The collection is partly located in the armchairs-drawers and partly mounted and exposed in the rooms of the museum. The collection shows a good status of conservation and there are 2 Holotypes, 9 Paratypes, 14 Syntypes |
