Description for specialists | Collection of 612 specimens of different invertebrates [103 Crustacea (Decapoda), 157 Arachnida (Araneae, Scorpiones), 7 Diplopoda, 345 Porifera/Cnidaria/Echinodermata) originated from some collections (e.g. Garavaglia, Luigioni, Agostinucci and Clermont) with two specimens of Tarantula palmata from Guatemala as gift from Prof. Mario Giaquinto.
Specimens collected essentially from Italy and partly from Southeast Asia, Africa, Central and South America, Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, Australia mainly during the 50s with some specimens collected in 1999-2000, some others during the 20s-30s and old ones during the late nineteenth century. The material is identified but not incorporated into main collection; it is exposed in 22 entomological-like boxes (9 boxes for Decapoda, 13 boxes for Arachnida and Diplopoda) in 9 drawers (5 drawers for Decapoda and 4 drawers for Arachnida and Diplopoda), 6 general boxes (4 for Decapoda, 1 for Echinodermata), 4 windows (Porifera/Cnidaria) |
